Ep. 40 /Syncing Steps and Cycles: A Dance Scientist's Perspective

Show Notes:

For all the dancers and former dancers out there !! Join me today as I talk with Maria Haralambis!

Maria, better known as the Dance Scientist on Instagram, is a podcast host who has a ton of background in dance as a former dancer. Today we talk about dance and missing periods, as well as connecting the two of them together.

Listen in for more:

  • A missing period is like an injury; you aren’t in any pain or anything like that, but it still should be treated as if you have an injury regardless of whether it is not convenient for you.

  • You can simply just listen to the health advice, but there’s work on your part too; if this (i.e. dancing, exercise, etc.) is something you truly love, you need to work on your “injury”, give it time to fully heal

  • There’s much we can attach to a woman’s menstrual cycle; during certain times of the month, we can access building more muscle strength, more energy, etc.
